Water to Nivesh: Embarrassed at Church
Nivesh, a slender 11-year-old who lives in southern Zambia, can’t ignore how she feels when fetching water, a task she undertakes at least three times a day. “I fear when I’m alone,” she says. “There are people who will kill you if they find you alone.” This frightening, day-long task weighs on Nivesh as much as the heavy cans of dirty water she treks back to her home. In fact, getting enough water is so challenging that there is often no water for bathing: something that keeps many in the developing world from attending church. Nivesh loves church, and loves to sing hymns in the choir. Your church can lead children like Nivesh to the living water of Jesus Christ by bringing clean water.
See why water is the greatest need of today. Pastor Andoni Phiri
talks about bringing water and Christ to people in Zambia.
You can sponsor a child in a community that desperately needs access to safe water, and be a key part of World Vision’s work to provide a new person with clean water every 30 seconds.
Sponsorship is the best way to bring clean water. This investment in a community can bring the necessary resources for sustainable change. Just one Sunday can help save lives--and change your church forever.
